As a Voluntary Aided Primary School, St Michael & All Angels C.E. Primary and Pre School is dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience for all its pupils. 🌟 Assessment Highlights 2025 - 2026 🌟

We are incredibly proud of our pupils’ achievements across all key stages. These outcomes reflect their determination, resilience and enthusiasm for learning, supported by our dedicated staff and families. 

📚 Key Stage 2 Achievements 

Reading: 📖 75% of pupils achieved the expected standard, matching the national average of 75%. 

Maths: ➕➖ 75% of pupils achieved the expected standard, in line with the national average of 75%. 

GPS (Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling): ✍️ 75% of pupils met the expected standard, slightly above the national average of 74%. 

Science: 🔬 71% of pupils achieved the expected standard, demonstrating secure scientific understanding and enquiry skills. 

Reading, Writing & Maths Combined: 🎓 58% of pupils achieved the expected standard across all three subjects. 

⭐ Higher Standard Attainment 

📖 17% of pupils achieved the higher standard in Reading. 

➕ 21% achieved the higher standard in Maths. 

✍️ 25% achieved the higher standard in Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling. 

🔢 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) 

🏆 41% of pupils achieved a perfect score of 25/25. 

🌟 This places our pupils close to the national picture and reflects the strong emphasis we place on developing rapid number fluency. 

🔤 Phonics Screening Check 

📘 80% of Year 1 pupils met the expected standard in the Phonics Screening Check. 

📚 Our phonics programme continues to provide children with strong foundations in early reading and language development. 

🧒 Early Years Foundation Stage 

🌱 74% of children achieved a Good Level of Development, exceeding the national average of approximately 72%. 

🌟 This achievement reflects the nurturing, engaging and ambitious start that children receive at St Michael & All Angels. 

Early Years Assessment Information

Early Years parents have ongoing access to Tapestry and use this system to gather information and monitor children’s progress. Families can comment on observations and upload their own observations of children outside of school of children reading, engaging in imaginative play or enjoying family celebrations.

You can download the app called 'Tapestry Online Learning Journal' or access it via your internet browser at https://tapestry.info  and create a parent/carer account.

Key Stage 1 and 2 parents receive assessment information three times a year after each assessment point.
