PSHCE and RSE

❤️ What Does PSHCE Look Like at St Michael & All Angels?

At St Michael's, we believe that every child deserves to feel valued, confident and ready to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through our PSHCE curriculum, we empower children to develop a strong sense of self, build positive relationships and understand their place within our school, local community and wider world.

Our PSHCE curriculum is carefully designed to reflect our vision. We encourage children to celebrate their individuality, embrace diversity and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to make informed choices throughout their lives.

Through engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences, pupils explore a wide range of important topics including mental health and wellbeing, friendships, relationships, personal safety, diversity, citizenship, careers and healthy lifestyles. Children are encouraged to reflect on their values, develop empathy and learn how to respond positively to the opportunities and challenges they may encounter as they grow.

🤝 PSHCE provides a safe and supportive environment where children can discuss important issues, ask questions and develop the confidence to express their thoughts and opinions respectfully. Through these discussions, pupils learn to understand and appreciate different perspectives whilst developing resilience, responsibility and self-awareness.

🇬🇧 A key part of our curriculum is promoting the Fundamental British Values, helping children become active, responsible and respectful citizens:

Democracy
The Rule of Law
Individual Liberty
Mutual Respect
Tolerance of Different Faiths and Beliefs

By exploring these themes, children develop an understanding of their rights and responsibilities, preparing them to make a positive contribution to modern British society and the wider world.

From Early Years through to Year 6, we nurture curious minds and resilient learners, helping children develop into confident, compassionate and respectful individuals who are ready to be Strong and Courageous in all aspects of life.

Below, you can explore our PSHCE in a Nutshell overview, which provides a snapshot of how PSHCE is taught across St Michael & All Angels and the journey our children take to become confident, responsible and compassionate members of their community.

PLEASE BE PATIENT! WE ARE BUSY UPDATING OUR NUTSHELL AND WILL ADD THIS VERY SOON!
